PROVENCE
Provence works its potent charms the most strongly in rural places such as the mountainside villages of Gordes and Eze. It is aided, however, in no small part by cypress trees, the Calanques of Cassies, vineyards dripping in ripe purple grapes, and a cool, shady bench, from which to watch a village game of boules. The palette of Provence, the fields of poppies and sunflowers, the rich cobalt blue of the summer skies, the fragrant wild herbs, and the pastel fields of lavender, all combine to make the most enriched travel photography. This gallery features those ancient villages, the open-air markets, the relaxing cafes in remote towns, and everyday scenes that one can only imagine before travelling there in person.
